Financial Controller Contract: Permanent Location: Manchester (Hybrid) Sector: Professional Services / Private Equity-backed Salary: £80k - £100k A high-growth, Private Equity–backed professional/legal services firm is seeking a Financial Controller to play a key role in its continued expansion. Reporting to the CFO, this is a hands-on leadership position offering exposure to M&A, senior stakeholders and the opportunity to build a scalable, best-in-class finance function in a fast-paced, acquisitive environment. Key Responsibilities • Lead financial control, reporting, audit and group consolidation • Manage cash flow, forecasting and working capital performance (including WIP and billing) • Deliver budgets, forecasts and performance insights to Board and leadership • Drive systems, data and process improvements across finance • Support M&A activity, including due diligence and integration of acquisitions • Lead and develop the finance team while managing key external stakeholders About You • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) • Strong financial control and reporting experience in a growing business • Background in professional or business services (legal advantageous) • Experience with working capital, WIP and revenue recognition • Exposure to private equity or M&A environments beneficial • Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder skills • Hands-on, commercially minded and comfortable in a fast-paced setting A strong opportunity for an ambitious finance leader to step into a high-impact role within a growing, PE-backed business.
