Room Leader – Baby Room with fantastic perks!

Location: Kilburn, NW6
Salary: £29,000–£30,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week, with an early finish at 1pm on Fridays!

VD Recruitment has partnered with a leading nursery in West London, registered for 51 children. The nursery offers beautifully designed, bright and welcoming rooms, creating a calm, warm and nurturing environment for children and staff.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Early Years professional to lead a small Baby Room caring for 14 babies.

The ideal candidate will have previous Room Leader experience or, at a minimum, experience as a Senior Baby Room Practitioner or Acting Room Leader, with the confidence and ability to lead, support and motivate a team of six practitioners.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who loves working with babies, has strong knowledge of the EYFS and is committed to providing high-quality care and education.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, inspire and motivate a team of six practitioners to deliver high-quality childcare.

• Plan and support engaging learning experiences in line with the EYFS framework.

• Observe, assess and record children's development and progress.

• Maintain accurate records and ensure children's individual needs are met.

• Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding, health and safety.

• Build positive relationships with parents and keep them informed about their child's progress.

• Supervise, support and develop team members.

• Liaise with external professionals to support children's learning and development.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Education or an equivalent recognised Early Years qualification.

• Previous Room Leader experience, or experience as a Senior Baby Room Practitioner or Acting Room Leader.

• Strong experience working with babies in an Early Years setting.

• Excellent knowledge of the EYFS framework, child development and safeguarding.

• Proven ability to support colleagues, take responsibility and contribute to the effective running of a baby room.

• A genuine passion for providing outstanding care and education for babies.
