Role Description The Early Years Practitioner role is a full-time, on-site position based in Glasgow. The practitioner will plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that support children’s learning, development, and wellbeing in line with early years frameworks. Daily responsibilities include supervising children, maintaining a safe and inclusive environment, observing and recording developmental progress, and communicating effectively with families and colleagues. The role involves working collaboratively with the nursery team to implement child-centred routines, contribute to curriculum planning, and support smooth transitions throughout the day. The practitioner will also help maintain nursery resources, follow safeguarding and health and safety procedures, and participate in ongoing professional development. Qualifications • Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive, professional relationships with children, families, and colleagues. • Candidates should possess knowledge of early childhood development and practical experience working with children in an early years or childcare setting. • Candidates should possess creativity skills to design and deliver engaging, play-based learning activities that support holistic development. • Candidates should possess organization skills to manage routines, maintain accurate records, and ensure a well-prepared learning environment. • Relevant early years qualification (e.g., SVQ, HNC, or equivalent in Childcare/Early Years Education) and understanding of local early years frameworks and safeguarding practices are beneficial. • Experience in nursery or early years settings, basic IT skills for documentation, and a commitment to ongoing professional learning are advantageous.
